Chicago Cubs
Chicago, Illinois | August 2017 - November 2020
Julia worked on all types of projects for the Chicago Cubs at Schafer Condon Carter (SCC) whether it was creating a digital billboard or designing stickers for kids. She also worked on campaign concepting, social media ads, and assisted with final project production and some re-touching. She has worked on artwork displayed at the annual Cubs Conventions for fans, Chicago Tribune ads, game event logos, Sloan Park and Spring Training artwork, and a logo for WGN’s final game at Wrigley Field.

Campaign Posters - Spring 2020
Going to a Cubs game at Wrigley Field is like seeing the ultimate movie— a ‘must-see’ story full of interesting characters, unpredictable plot twists and a roller coaster of emotions. This was the idea behind the Cubs’ 2020 Campaign, ‘Where Stories Play.’ One of the tactics behind this campaign was to design Cubs ‘movie posters’ for Out-of-Home ads. These movies wouldn’t be real, but playing in different movie genres, the agency team could create these posters to get fans hyped up to see their favorite team play. Julia designed a Sci-Fi genre movie poster called Moonshot. The movie poster was displayed in multiple bus shelter locations around Chicago and also on ‘L’ train platforms.

2020 Campaign Look Concepts - Summer 2019
A new baseball season means new artwork. These were some 2020 ‘looks’ for the 2020 season Julia designed.
Chicago Cubs Front Office Brochure - Spring 2018
The project task was to design a brochure that celebrated and encouraged an understanding of the Cubs organization’s heritage and achievements in the new Cubs Front Office. Julia drew each Cubs artifact as an icon so when guests were touring the Front Office, they could recognize the artifact and read the description. She also illustrated the Cubs’ Front Office on the front cover and applied a Spot UV treatment to give the illustration a glossy look.
WGN Tribute Logo - Summer 2019
During the 2019 baseball season, WGN aired its final broadcasts of the Chicago Cubs games after 72 years. Julia was tasked with designing a logo for celebrating this historic partnership and to give fans a chance to remember WGN as the home of Cubs baseball and a national super station.

In-Stadium Events and Pieces - 2018-2020 Seasons
Julia has designed items like Chicago Cubs Dollars, which are $5, $10, and $20 Cubs “cash” to use inside Wrigley Field. She also designed the Chicago Cubs Summer Camp Day logo and the Cubs Pride logo. These logos were used for summer campers attending a game at Wrigley Field and for celebrating Pride at the stadium. Lastly, she created sticker designs based off of the Cubs’ “Everybody In” campaign.

Hotel Zachary Baseball Cards - 2018
When Hotel Zachary (the new boutique hotel across the street from Wrigley Field) opened, Julia designed some baseball card concepts of the architect for Wrigley Field. These cards would be given to hotel customers upon check-in. Fun fact: the original photo of Zachary was in black and white, so Julia re-painted the photo to be in color.
